Per Federal Census records, Salinda was the tenth of twelve children (five
sons & seven daughters) born to Oliver Perry & Ann (Kishpaugh) Silverthorn.

Iowa State records show David & Salinda had a son, Leonard, who was born in
Green River (Township), Adair County, Iowa on 16 Mar 1882. Sometime after
the 1895 State Census, the family ultimately moved to Alberta with her
parents & extended family to find available farming land. After David died,
Salinda moved to Seattle, where she stayed with her younger sister, Catherine.

NOTE: the exact cause of David's death was not found, but he enlisted in
the Union Army on 12 Oct 1861 in Galesburg, Illinois & discharged on 15
Nov 1862 with a diagnosis of HEART DISEASE.
