I'm assuming the Samuel Allen in the document was the Samuel Allen who died May 30, 1777 brother-in-law of Nathan & Randolph & husband of their sister Mary. Samuel Allen was a wealthy man at the time of his death. From a deed dated Jan. 27, 1759 "Stoffel Longstreet in the township of Upper Freehold, miller, conveys to Samuel Allen in the township of Nottingham, yeoman, for 600 pounds, a tract of land containing 200 acres." This may be what the 400 pound debt was all about. The use of the name Randall & Randolph in the 10-Aaron line is an interesting one & begins with Randolph/Randall son of Samuel & Margaret Page Robins. Charles Robbins Hutchinson speculated that 10-Aaron's wife was a FitzRandolph & possibly he was correct. Samuel may have used his mother's surname for one of his sons, linking the two family names together as Randolph Robins. I continue to look at the FitzRandolph family but so far nothing has been found to indicate the wife of 10-Aaron was a FitzRandolph.
