I have been studying his movement west to Pennsylvania. There is a belief that he died in 1785 but I have never seen any actual documentation on this. They may have had a daughter Elizabeth Robbins Wright born in 1781 in Somerset PA that ended up along with her Brother William / Mary Drake Robbins and John in Washington Township in Brown County Ohio. Both William and Elizabeth passed away in the 1850's.  I have not been able to connect Obediah's and Susannah Hodgkins Robbins to my Ohio Brown County Robbins line yet but my theory I believe is solid. Somerset PA is where Margaret Bingaman Barngrover my 4th Great Grandmother was born. There were a number of Vincent's and Azubia's in my Ohio line that make me believe in the Obediah family connection. A lot of New Jersey names managed to come to come to the Kentucky / Ohio border around 1800. Obadiah was a Witness to the Will of Samuel Kitchen of Amwell Township, which was written Oct. 20, 1771. On April 24, 1775, Obadiah sold the land in Amwell Township, that he had inherited from his father. Obediah was on Tax Lists for Rostraver, Westmoreland County, PA, from 1783 - 1789. Allegheny County was formed in 1788 from Westmoreland. I am happy to see that he was there on the 1810 Census. Elizabeth Hodgkins parents were James Hodgkins and Elizabeth Evans both from Pennsylvania. These Family names were also on the Census for Washington Brown County Ohio 1820 thru 1850's.  3c. Washington County, PA Obadiah Robbins and a James Sutton both on the census renting property.  On this web site :  http://www.tbgen.com/hodgkins/children.html    They talk about children of Obadiah Robbins and Susannah Hodgkins who migrated to Georgetown Brown County, Ohio.  This bit of information  - Merchant Obidiah Robin's description of relations between Wyandot Indians and whites near Tuscarawas, Ohio (May 17, 1785) is from this website  https://quod.lib.umich.edu/c/clementsmss/umich-wcl-M-306har?view=text    3d. The death date for Azubia Thatcher Robbins is a mystery. If Job Robbins ended up with the property and Amos Thatcher her brother lived nearby. Azubia and her un-mentioned children most likely stayed in the same area with either families. Is there any known Robins that left this group and moved to Sussex County, New Jersey ? I know that Obadiah Robins son of Vincent and Ann Kitchen Robbins traveled west to the Pittsburgh area. My believed Isaac Robbins  1735 +/-  10 years and died around 1780 in nearby Mingo Creek, Nottingham Washington County PA. ( Tracey Marcelo research ) I like the Thatcher DNA question posed by Gary. It is interesting to compare CM matches. On familytree DNA I used family finder and found a handful of Thatcher connection's. Most of them go back to England but if anyone need names of them I can share. Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net 24 Nov 2019 Marshall, In the past you asked about evidence that Obadiah Robbins of western Pennsylvania is a son of Vincent Robbins who died in 1760. I have a significantly good DNA match with a descendant of Obadiah’s son, Ezekiel, which suggests our common ancestor is Isaac Robins, the father of Vincent. I haven’t checked for Robbins DNA matches because I’m sure it would be overwhelming. This match came up when I was checking another surname. BEGIN From: Sara Robbins Hoffman [july37@cox.net] Sent: Saturday, August 01, 2009 1:41 PM Does anyone have any information on Obadiah, John & William Robins sons of Vincent & Ann Kitchen Robins who were the grandsons of Isaac Robins ca. 1700-1741. Were there had any descendants of these three children? Estimated births for Obadiah ca. 1750, John ca. 1752, William ca. 1754. They were named in the will of Thomas Kitchen their maternal grandfather written Oct. 29, 1757 as minor children of his daughter Ann Robins w/o Vincent. Obadiah was living in Amwell Township, Hunterdon Co., on Apr. 24, 1775 when he deeded land to John Buchanan. Maybe these three migrated out of NJ? Just a thought, any ideas or any links to them? From: Tamara Stevens [tamara@bearsandhares.com] Sent: Saturday, August 01, 2009 7:13 PM My William of Rutherford Co., NC could possibly be this William. I have him born bef 1755 but could be as early as 1745. He had no descendants named Vincent, no children named Ann, but he had grandkids named Obadiah, John, Thomas and Ann. But one never knows! He could have had a falling out with his parents and left the family. I do have the DNA match so my William has to fit somewhere. From: Sara Hoffman [july37@cox.net] Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 1:38 PM It appears possible for Wm Robins of Rutherford Co., NC to be the son of Vincent & Ann. The confirmation from the DNA match that William belongs in the Daniel Robins family helps a lot. The will of Thomas Kitchen names Vincent & Ann's children in this order Sarah, Obadiah, John & William. From a deed Obadiah was the oldest son & heir of Vincent Robins. I'm assuming Sarah was the oldest child & then Obadiah, John & William. Thomas Kitchen died in 1757 & Vincent in 1760. There was time between 1757 & 1760 for Vincent & Ann to have another child & not be named in their grandfather Kitchen's will. This is just a thought that there could have been another child. Since Ann Kitchen Robins remarried John Peters, the youngest Robins children may not have remembered their father Vincent very well, if at all. Maybe this is why William had no son named Vincent. Can anyone help me verify that Obadiah Robins s/o Vincent married Susannah Hodgkins in 1776 in NJ & their children were Amos, Samuel, Ezekial, William, John, Hannah & James? A couple of their children have birthplaces in PA. I can't find a source for Obadiah's marriage or names & birthplaces of his children. If this is correct & Obadiah had children born in PA, it increases the possibility his brothers John & William also migrated out of NJ. END
