Collections of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society Vol IV Staten Island Church Records 1909 BEGIN Records of St Andrews Church in Richmond, Staten Island Marriages Names of Those Published Register of Marriages Copied by Rev. David Moore from his Private Records for his Son Richard Channing Moore 1807, July 11 John Pollard, Else Robins END From: odonnejo2 [JonathanOD@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2005 12:58 AM BEGIN I am new to this board and I am hoping to determine the lineage of my ancestor Robert Robbins (1758-1833). After careful review of much evidence, I very strongly believe that Robert Robbins was born in New Jersey. I also have some indication that his father's name might have been Daniel. Robert Robbins was born May 19, 1758. In approximately 1787, Robert Robbins married Ann Mersereau (1769-1846) of Staten Island, New York. Ann Mersereau was born and raised in Staten Island, the daughter of Richard Mersereau and Christian White. The Mersereaus were an old Staten Island family; however, Christian White was from Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The White family were Quakers. After marriage, Robert spent the remainder of his life in Staten Island where he was a wheelright and innkeeper. Robert and Ann had the following children: 1) Alice (Born 1788) 2) Richard Mersereau (1791) 3) Achsah (aka Ackshley, Acsah, asha) (1796) 4) Christian Ann (1801) 5) Daniel Mersereau (1804) 6) Robert (1807) I would very much appreciate any suggestions as to Robert's parentage. Thank you very much. Regards, Jonathan O'Donnell END
