DAVID C. LAKE

VERO BEACH - David C. Lake, 81, of Vero Beach, died peacefully at home May
18, 2000.

Mr. Lake was born December 19, 1918 in Binghamton NY, and moved to Vero
Beach 10 years ago, from Rancho Sante Fe, California.

He graduated from Princeton University in 1941, after serving as a Major in
the United States Army during world War II.  He was employed by IBM until
his retirement.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Jean Compo Lake of Vero Beach, and their
children.  Rosemary Graham of Alamdea CA; Charles D. Lake of Stuart FL;
Andre Mayer of Petaluma CA; Michael Lake of Encinitas CA; Ted Sedlmayr of
Ft. Lauderdale FL; Stephanie Sedlmayr of Vero Beach FL; Jill MacMillan of
Honolulu HI; Phillip Sedlmayr of Binghampton NY; Joanna Bridges of Darien
CT: 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Mr. Lake was predeceased by
his son, Byron Lake.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday at Strunk Funeral Home,
Vero Beach.

At the family's request friends may make contributions to the Enviromental
Learning Center, 255 Live Oak Drive, Vero Beach FL 32863 in memory of Mr.
Lake.
