Laura Ozella Popejoy and William Jackson Rodgers, Jr. were married 15 January
1902, New Market, Madison Co., Alabama. They lived in or near New Market
until the 1920's. Two sons were born to them in Madison County, Alabama,
Thomas Wesson and William Ellis Rodgers. By 1930, Jack was working in an
automobile factory in Flint, Michigan.

Memorial Obituary, The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama, May 8 1958
"Mrs. Jack Rodgers, the former Laura Popejoy of New Market, died this
morning at a hospital in Flint, Mich. Mrs. Rodgers, who resided in Flint,
underwent an operation last week.  "Funeral services will be held Sunday,
with Laughlin Service in charge. The time of the services and further
arrangements will be announced later.  "Survivors include two sons, Ellis
and Wesson Rodgers, both of Flint; a sister, Mrs. Mary Baker of Chattanooga;
and a brother, E. R. Popejoy of Paint Rock, Ala.  "Mrs. Rodgers' husband
died several weeks ago."

William Jackson Rodgers, Jr. (called "Jack") was born in Alabama to Rebecca
J. Davis and William Jackson Rodgers, Sr. Jack's father was a Confederate
veteran of Co. F, 27th Ala. Inf. Census records show his occupation as a
farmer and the Manager of the Poor Farm.
