From a researcher's notes: BEGIN "Of Days Gone By" section of Belvidere News dated August 13, 1997 gave a yesteryear note from August 13, 1904 reporting the following: "Philip Linaberry, a well-known farmer living on the John D. Vail farm near Vail, died Wednesday. Since February his health has been failing and he has been very despondent. He was born near Walnut Valley 59 years ago. His wife had been dead 17 years and he leaves his children William of Newark, Mrs. John Van Syckle of Vail, Mrs. James Hallet of Poliville, Arthur of Knowlton and Mrs. May Harris, Laura and Clark at home." A paper "Yards Creek Folks" written by Minnie D. Smith dated August 1962 give frequent reference to the name Linaberry. On page 5 she mentions that the Linaberry barn is dated 1830. Page 8: "A road along the mountain from the Linaberry farm through the Bear Swamp was abandoned about fifty years ago. This connected the first and second holdings of the Titmans with Franklin Grove and the Millbrook Road. This at one time was planned to reach to the Delaware Water Gap." Page 14: "The reservoir construction getting under way will do away with the Linaberry home buildings which have had least changes of those along Yard Creek." Also page 14: "Some changes of surnames have occurred. Linaberry was originally Linebach handed down in the Moravian records of Hope settlers." Philip Linaberry is buried at the top of the hill in the Knowlton Cemetery, next to his wife Delphine Youmans. END
