1a. Re: Jonathan ROBBINS of Greenwich Twp, Warren Co, NJ Posted by: ck_steger@yahoo.com ck_steger Date: Sat Sep 2, 2017 8:50 am ((PDT)) BEGIN Just got back from a family reunion, of sorts. Military service for my uncle. I spoke with my father's last remaining brother, Frank Robbins, about the family tree. Jonathan was definitely a beekeeper. My uncle knew of him-- just not his name-- and also thought he was a gg grandfather, but his wife quickly corrected him by saying Jonathan was much further back in the tree. Frank also did not know Edward H. Robbins (his great grandfather) was a music teacher. I'm going to attribute that to Edward divorcing Susan Edinger and moving to Michigan to marry Carlie Blanchard. I'm assuming this was somewhat of a scandal, especially since Edward's father not only did not leave him an inheritance, but also demanded a payment. And perhaps if Edward was a disgrace to the family, there was little to no mention of him (deep, dark family secret). Frank said his grandfather, William S Robbins, made and repaired wagons. A horse kicked him in the stomach and the injury so severe that he died a day or two later. I realize most of this is of no personal interest to you since your line is from a different son of Robert Robins, but you may want to make record of it since it's first-hand knowledge. I still want to find a death certificate for William S. END
