Lindabury was born in Morris Plains, New Jersey, on July 16, 1878, son of William Henry and Thankfull (Philhower) Lindabury. His father died in 1882 and his mother died in 1930. It was in the public schools of Morristown that Richard W. Lindabury received his early education, and from the high school of that place he was graduated with the class of 1896. Then he began the study of law in the offices of Lindabury, Depue and Faulks, well known legal practitioners. In February, 1903, he was duly admitted to the bar of New Jersey, and he began his legal practice with that same firm, Lindabury, Depue and Faulks, with who he remained from November, 1896, until July, 1908. In 1912 he became associated with the Fidelity Trust Company, in its title department, which connection he maintained until, in 1921, he left that company to become associated with the North Jersey Title Insurance Company. In the fall of 1922 he joined the firm of Lindabury and Steelman, lawyers, and continued with them until July 1, 1927, when he withdrew from that association. Now retired from the active practice of the law, Mr. Lindabury nevertheless devotes part of his time to title work, which he performs with the Fidelity Union Title and Mortgage Guaranty Company, of Newark. In the fall of 1928 he was elected mayor of Morris Plains and served one term. He is active in civic affairs, and has served in past times as a member of the borough council. His political alignment is with the Republican party. He is a member of the Free and Accepted Masons; and is a member, too, of the Tapkaow Club, of Morristown. Mr. Lindabury maintains his residence in Morris Plains, New Jersey. END
