transcription of Newspapers->Marriages->5.30.jpg Probably from a Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania newspaper in April of 1906: BEGIN Cavanaugh-Thayne. A very brilliant affair was that which took place at the home of Mr. Peter Thayne, of Rush Boro, April 25th, when his eldest daughter, Mary C., was united in matrimony with James W. Cavanaugh, of Auburn. At three o'clock the bridal party reached St. Bonaventure's church, where the ceremony was performed by their pastor, Rev. P. J. McHale. About five o'clock a delicious repast was served at the home of the bride, and justice done to the many good things. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Frances, and Mr. Thomas Hanson, cousin of the groom, noted as best man. About four hundred guests were present including people from Sayre, Scranton, Montrose, Towanda, and many other places. The bride was beautifully and becomingly gowned in a dress of cream sicilian, with hat to match. The groom wore the convenional black. The presents were numerous and valuable, among them were two hundred and thirty dollars in money, silver, china, linen, and many other things. As morning drew near the guests departed, feeling that they had spent some very pleasant hours and leaving many good wishes and congratulations for the happy pair. Mr. and Mrs. Cavanaugh are very popular and most highly esteemed young people. Their many friends wish them a long, happy and prosperous life. END
