transcription of Newspapers->Marriages->5.31.jpg Probably from a Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania newspaper in September of 1913: BEGIN Burke-Thayne. One of the prettiest weddings of the season occurred at St. Bonaventure's church, Auburn, Pa., on Wednesday, September 10, 1913, at 4 o'clock p.m., when Miss Frances Anna Thayne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thayne of Rushboro, was united in matrimony to Thomas James Burke of Sayre, by the bride's pastor, Rev. Father Kelly. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Dolores Thayne. Andrew Burke of Meshoppen, acted as best man. The bride was beautifully gowned in white charmense, trimmed with white lace and white picture hat to match, while the bridesmaid wore a gown of white crepe-de-chene with hat to match. Both the groom and his attendant wore the conventional black. Following the ceremony, about one hundred fifty guests assembled at the home of the bride and partook of the delicious repast, which the bride's caterer, Mrs. Mulligan of Wyalusing, with her helpers, had so liberally prepared. The bride received many beautiful and costly presents including linen, cut glass, silverware, and china together with $180 in money. Mr. and Mrs. Burke will go at once to housekeeping in Sayre, where Mr. Burke has a responsible position. We extend congratulations that they may have a long, happy and prosperous future.
