Smith, the former Ruth Kishbaugh, sixty-eight, 528 West Front street, Berwick, died early yesterday afternoon in Berwick Hospital where she had been admitted Sunday evening. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born in Berwick, March 21, 1901, daughter of the late Daniel M. and Clara Raseley [sic] Kishbaugh. In her earlier life she was employed in the Philadelphia Bargain Store, operated by Morris Shaffer. Later she was with the Racusin Store and during World War II was employed at the Multiplex. Her death severs a marital span of forty-two years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Good Samaritan Sunday School Class. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Matthew (Frances) Beattie, Berwick; a son Charles H. Smith, Nescopeck; seven grandchildren, a brother, Robert R. Kishbaugh, Berwick; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two at the James L. Hinckley Funeral Home, Berwick, with Rev. William H. Marshall, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery, Market street. END
