END transcription of Newspapers->Deaths->5.43.jpg Probably from a newspaper local to Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania dated March 16, 1932: BEGIN James Keogh, an aged and highly respected citizen of Auburn township, died at his home at Auburn Place, about noon yesterday, Tuesday, March 15, 1932, after a short illness with pneumonia, he having been sick only since Friday. He was 88 years of age and had many friends in Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Thomas Kernan of Meshoppen, Mrs. James McNerney on the homestead farm, and Mrs. Kennedy of Scranton; also one brother, Thomas Keogh of Elk Lake. The funeral will be held this Wednesday morning at St. Bonaventures church at Auburn Place, and burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining by the side of his wife who died five years ago on the same date of his death. Kernan, 89, 18 Goethe St., Binghamton, N.Y., formerly of Meshoppen, died Saturday at Asa Park Manor, Montrose, after an illness. His wife, the former Mary Keough, died 19 years ago. Born in Meshoppen Twp., Wyoming County, he conducted a dairy farm until his retirement several years ago. He also was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Joachim Church, Meshoppen, and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are a son, James, Meshoppen; three daughters, Mrs. E. J. [sic] Bond, Vestal, N.Y.; Mrs. Edward Monske, Binghamton, N.Y., and Mrs. Frances [sic] Gibbard, [sic] Dimock, 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday from Bryce Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Meshoppen, with mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joachim Church. Interment parish cemetery. Friends may call today 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. END
