From a New Jersey newspaper in January of 1931:

Samuel C. Kinney
  Mrs. B. B. Linaberry received word last Thursday that her only surviving
brother, Samuel C. Kinney, had died suddenly on January 7, at his home in
Susquehanna County, Pa.  He was 82 years old and is survived by his wife
and five children, all living in that part of Pennsylvania.  He was born
in Blairstown Township but the most of his life was spent in Susquehanna
County where he engaged in farming until poor health caused him to retire.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Union Church near Nicholson,
Pa., with interment in the cemetery adjoining.  Three sisters survive,
Mrs. B. B. Linaberry, Blairstown; Mrs. Rachel Williams, Hopbottom, Pa.;
and Mrs. J. L. Saunders, Scranton.
