Deceased was born in eastern Pennsylvania Feb. 29, 1832, and came with his parents to Mahoning county when a mere lad, spending most of his life in Canfield and vicinity. For years he followed farming, teaching school in the winter. He was associated with Allen Calvin in the milling business for a considerable time but in recent years had lived a retired life. Fifty-six years ago he was married to Miss Margaret Calvin of Green township who survives him together with four children – Ira Stafford of Youngstown, Dr. A. C. Stafford of Peoria, Ill., Robert Stafford and Mrs. Cora Nash of Canfield. Funeral services in charge of Rev. W. P. Hollister, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will be held from the family home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the village cemetery."
