Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts - 1677 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey,
daughter of THOMAS MILWARD and ANN GOODALE).

William's will:
1736, Oct 21: Thorpe, William, of Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., yeoman, will
of. Children: William, Thomas, Elijah, Rebecka (widow of John Wilkinson),
Lydia and Barsheba. Grandson, Israel, youngest child of son Israel,
deceased at 21. Land I had of my father, Thomas Thorpe, of said Town,
deceased. Executors - brother, Daniel Thorpe, and son Thomas, both
of Woodbridge. Witnesses - Charles Murray, Benjamin Morris, Ad. Hude.
Proved March 12, 1740. (Lib C. p. 398)

April 28, 1725: Surv'd for Mr. John Mooterie of Woodbridge, 5 1/2 Acres

Dec 3, 1698: Acct. of debts paid out of the estate of Thomas Adams of

Lydia Robins married William Thorpe, Sr. of Woodbridge. He was the son of
Thomas Thorpe, Sr. & Rebecca Milward. William is named in the will of his
father Thomas Thorpe, Sr. & they spell the name Thorpe. Woodbridge Vital
Records spells the name Thorpe & Thorp. I have seen it as Tharp but there
is no relationship to William Sharp or the Sharp family. The Sharps & the
Thorpe/Thorp/Tharps are two separate families. Woodbridge Vital Records
show Hope Robins was married to John Moore when Daniel Robins died in 1714
but daughter Mary age 50 was still single.

Lydia Thorpe was born 1690 at Woodbridge & her parents were William Thorpe &
Lydia Robins born July 25, 1668. Lydia Robins was the first child of Daniel &
Hope to be born at Woodbridge. Wm & Lydia spent their lives at Woodbridge
where they were associated with the 1st Presbyterian Church. Lydia & her
brother Daniel Jr. inherited the New Haven land that Daniel Robins refers
to in his will. This is the land Daniel Robins, Jr sold to Nathaniel &
Samuel Potter in 1718. The land appears to have been what Hope inherited
from her father William Potter.

Their daughter Lydia Thorpe married John Eastwood. According to Robert
Davenport who is a descendant of Lydia Robins Thorpe & has researched this
line Clint Eastwood is a Daniel Robins descendant. Robert has what appears
to be good sources for the Eastwood/Thorpe/Robins link.

Since Clint Eastwood has been prominently featured in the news recently I
thought the group may be interested to know he is a Daniel & Hope Potter
Robins descendant. His ancestor John Eastwood of Woodbridge, NJ married
Lydia Thorpe 1690-1730 daughter of William & Lydia Robins Thorpe. Lydia
Thorpe Eastwood was the grandaughter of Daniel & Hope.
