George Lake, the son of Elijah and Sara(Rarick)Lake was born in West Jersey,
IL. The family had returned to New Jersey by 1860. George returns with his
father to IL by 1877. They settle at Dover, Bureau Co. IL.  George married
Catherine Shifflet 7 Oct 1885 in Bureau Co. IL.  George and Catherine are in
Kewanee, IL 1893-1907.  Their son Corlie M. Lake born in Kewanee in 1893.
Listed in Kewanee City Directories in 1905 & 1907.  George is recorded as
a Fireman at the Water Works in Kewanee 1905.  1910 found in Rock Island
Co. IL Located in Cook Co. by 1917, where Catherine dies.  1920 census
George is a lineman in Amberg, WI.  About 1929, George is admitted to Will
Co. Poor Farm in IL.  He dies there 15 Jun 1936.
