BEGIN

When a young man his parents came to Susquehanna County and for 2 years he
lived in Springville.  Later he moved to Dimock and came to Montrose, where
he followed the trade of carpenter.  About 1885 he built the residence on
South Cherry street now occupied and owned by Geo. B. Felker, and here he
lived for some years.  The deceased had been for over 60 years a resident
of the county and was a man of fine type and a good citizen.

Jacob was a Private in the Civil War.

Jacob and his 2nd wife Laura were the parents of Lucy Ann Rice-born 12 Aug 1898 in Susquehanna County, PA---Lucy married Walter Percy Hill--
Lucy died 10 April 1990 and is buried with her husband in Johnson City, Broome, NY @ Floral Park Cem.
