Kishbaugh Died Yesterday Stroke of Paralysis, With Pneumonia Developing Caused Death A stroke of paralysis, with pneumonia later developing, caused the death at the Berwick Hospital of Joseph Kishbaugh, a well known and highly esteemed resident of Garfield avenue, after an illness of some days. His condition was critical when he was taken to the hospital. Mr. Kishbaugh was aged 52 years and had been a resident of town for the greater part of his life. He was a member of the P. O. S. of A. Surviving are his wife and four children, Mrs. Stanley Remley, Arthur, Donald and Lillian Kishbaugh, all at home. An adopted son, Sefarus Kishbaugh, also survives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at his late home on Garfield avenue, with Rev. S. E. Koontz, pastor of the North Berwick Evangelical Church of which he was an attendant, officiating. The P. O. S. of A. will have charge of the service. Kishbaugh Was Held Yesterday and Was Very Largely Attended.-Rev. Koontz Officiated Largely attended and deeply impressive were the funeral services at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon of Joseph Kishbaugh, of Garfield avenue, with Rev. S. E. Koontz, pastor of the North Berwick Evangelical Church, officiating. A short service was conducted at the house after which the body was taken to the church where they were continued, Rev. L. A. Fuhrman assisting at the services at the church. The choir sang two beautiful selections "My Faith Looks Up To Thee" and "Rock of Ages." There were a number of beautiful floral tributes including designs from the P. O. S. of A., A. C. & F., neighbors and members of the family. The P. O. S. of A. had charge of the service at the grave with members of the order acting as pall-bearers. Interment was made in Pine Grove cemetery. END transcription of Newspapers->Deaths->9.143ch-ii.jpg From The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania dated September 22, 1932: BEGIN Mrs. Kishbaugh Died Yesterday Garfield Avenue Woman's Death Followed Three Day's Illness Mrs. Arthur Reagan Kishbaugh, of Garfield avenue, died yesterday morning at 7:15 o'clock at the Berwick Hospital, following an illness of only three days. Her death was sudden and comes as a shock to the community. Convulsions were the cause of her death. Born in Dimsville, Pa., October 4, 1898, Mrs. Kishbaugh was aged 33 years, eleven months and 17 days. She had made her home in Berwick since 1904. Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, Austin and Leroy Stimeling, both of Berwick. The body has been removed to the Kelchner funeral home from where funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will be made in Roselawn cemetery. Rev. Paul A. Werner, pastor of the North Berwick Evangelica church will officiate. Friends wishing to view the body may do so on Friday evening between the hours of seven and nine o'clock. Kishbaugh, seventy-six, died suddenly last evening at 7:05, at the home of her son, Donald, Berwick R. D. 2. She had been ill for about ten weeks and serious for two weeks. Born in Salem township, January 18, 1874, she had spent all her life in this vicinity. Her husband, the late Joseph E. Kishbaugh, died in 1918. [sic] Mrs. Kishbaugh was a member of the Bethany E.U.B. Church and Sunday School and the Ladies of the Golden Eagle, Berwick. Surviving are children, Sofares, [sic] Hobbie; Mrs. Leroy Stimeling. Mrs. Stanley Remley, Berwick, and Donald; brothers and sisters, Nathan Lynn, Kingston; Mrs. Catherine Flick, Mrs. Fannie Lannign, [sic] and Joseph Lynn, Berwick; Christopher Lynn, Danville; twenty-five grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Longenberger home for funerals, Berwick, Wednesday morning at ten-thirty o'clock, with the Rev. Hobart H. Jacobs, pastor of the Bethany EUB Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove cemetery, Market street. END
