All of this (including the children) is according to Leland Stanford Cool (3.577) John was born on May 17, 1855 in Polkville, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey and died on June 11, 1937 in Byron, Michigan. He married first Ida Elizabeth Travis on August 8, 1877. Ida was born on April 16, 1856 in Metamora Township, Lapeer County, Michigan and died on September 20, 1883 in Oxford, Michigan. She is buried in Oxford. Ida is the daughter of Sylvester Travis and Louisa M. Willoughby. John married second Susan Adell Rossman on November 29, 1884. Susan was born on October 7, 1860 in Oxford and died on September 24, 1943 in Byron, Shiawassee County, Michigan. She is buried in Oxford. Susan is the daughter of Leander Rossman and Mary Ann Stone (previously married to ------ Hallett and ------ Starr). Mary was born on May 27, 1836 and died on August 19, 1861, the daughter of William Stone and Susanne La Barr. The following information was taken from a Scrap Book of Susan A. Cool (spouse of 9.257) of Byron, Michigan. This was written on December 2, 1941. John Marshall Cool Born Polkville, New Jersey, May 17, 1855. Died in Byron, Michigan, Saturday evening June 11 1937 at the age 82 years. Son of John K. Cool, and Sarah Snyder. He moved to Oxford, Michigan in 1857, where his Father managed a farm implement foundry. At the age of 15, he started to learn the Wagon and Buggy making trade, as an apprentice. He continued in this business for nearly 30 years. In 1877, he was united in marriage to Ida E. Travis of Metamora, Michigan, who preceded him in death in 1883. To this union one son was born. Clayton Arthur, now residing in Leroy, Michigan. On Nov. 29, 1884, he was united in marriage to Susan A. Rossman. To this union were born two sons, Leland Stanford, who died in 1935, and John Kenneth, residing in Gaines, Michigan. Mr. Cool moved to Leroy, Michigan where he lived until 1904, when he moved to Plymouth, Michigan. Mr. Cool was a carpenter by trade, as attested by a number of buildings which today stand as proof of his craftsmanship. Before moving to Byron, he and his wife resided at their farm home in Gaines for 14 years. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, children, grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Frank Weigle [sic] of North Branch, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral sevices were held from the home in Byron, Tuesday, June 15, at 2 o'clock. Rev. Jesse Pratt officated. Interment was made in the Oxford Cemetary. The End.
