It seems George had a bit of Nomadic streak in his soul.  We know he was
born and raised in Starkey, New York, but by 1860, at the age of 24 he found
his was to Barton, on a farm very near-by to his brother Jonas' farm and he
was married to Samantha Smith.  By 1870, he is living in Lodi and according
to the 1880 census, he is still living in Lodi.  But we have the following
notice, so maybe he was trying to operate two farms simultaneously.  By the
1892 state census, he is firmly living in Barton, minus his wife Samantha
and now married to young Bertha Weed.

Married on Tuesday, July 14, 1891, at the Baptist parsonage, Oat Hill,

groom are both residents of Barton.
