C. Young, on Halsted street, Sunday evening, from pneumonia, after about a week's illness. Besides her husband she is survived by eight children, viz: William Baker, Chain Dam, Pa.; Mrs. William Smith, Lafayette; Mrs. Anna Ross, Philadelphia; Charles Baker, Belvidere; George Baker, New Mexico; Mrs. I. C. Young, Clinton; Isaac Baker, Easton; and Mrs. George Bowman, Dover. There are also 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker was a kind hearted lady, highly esteemed by all who knew her, and for many years was a consistent member of the M. E. church. The funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at the home of her daughter Mrs. Young, at 9 o'clock, and at the M. E. church, at 2:30. Interment in Evergreen cemetery. END transcription of Newspapers->Deaths->9.84-2.jpg From a Clinton, Hunterdon County, New Jersey newspaper dated June 18, 1914: BEGIN Henry Baker Henry Baker, an old resident of this place, died at the home of his son-in-law, west of town, last night, at 11 o'clock. Mr. Baker suffered a stroke of apoplexy about three weeks ago, and, although he regained consciousness, has never been himself since. He has been an intense sufferer and his death came as a relief to him. He was nearly 84 years of age and came to this country from Germany when only 15 years old. He had lived in this vicinity most of the time, spending his winters with his son, Charles, in Belvidere, and his summers here since his wife died, a few years ago. Mrs. C. Young, of this place, is his daughter. Funeral services will be held from the home of Mr. Smith on Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, under the direction of Swarer & Robinson.
