from http://www.njsuttonfamily.org BEGIN Hunterdon County Democrat Flemington, NJ 1838-1888 August 9, 1887, Forty-Ninth Volume, No. 52 Local Department Joseph Lake, Jr., a son of ex-Sheriff Joseph P. Lake, of Junction, was kicked by his horse on Saturday, 30th ult., and died from his injuries on Monday. Mr. Lake was cared for at his brother’s house, but nothing could relieve his intense suffering. On Monday he died. He was about 33 years of age and left a wife and two children. A post mortem examination was held on Tuesday, and it was found that the kick had ruptured the bowels.
