Gertrude D. Lake
AGE: 96 - Morristown

Gertrude D. Lake died on Jan. 17, 2013 at Pine Acres Nursing Home in Madison,
NJ. She was 96. Born in Dover, she lived in Morristown most of her life. She
was a graduate of the Bayley High School, Morristown. She began her career
working as a hairdresser and then began working for her brother, Frederick,
who owned The Boot Shop in Morris Plains and Morristown. Gertrude retired
after working for several years as a sales person at Epstein's Department
Store in Morristown. She was often seen by many sitting on her front
porch. She loved to read, garden, bake cakes and especially loved her cats.

Gertrude is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Delia Lake; two brothers,
Frederick and Vincent and sister Katherine. She is survived by her three
nieces; Veronica Lake of Bradley Beach, Peggy Oswald of Mendham, and Eileen
Pergentile of Morristown. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday at Gate
of Heaven Cemetery, Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover at 12:30PM. Arrangements
made by the Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Ave., Morristown, NJ.
