Lake Thanks Annette, that was closer than I ever got to finding info on that family although I was a little suspect that this was the same Dennis. While I was investigating this Dennis and Minnie I came across an affidavit under "The Marriage Act" for a William Huffman and a Pearl Lake, with her mother being Mary Petersen and father Dennis Lake. Another contributing factor was that it took place in Napanee. Unfortunately, it doesn't help determining Dennis's parents. I was going to attach the document but don't know if you collect such things (that are likely so far removed from your research). Anyway, thanks again, if you hadn't mentioned marriage record it might have been years (or if ever) before I might have found them. Brian...... These appear to be completely different people. I have attached a copy of the 1901 census for Ontario, and they are shown as born in Ontario. I don't have your John Lake and Mary Hall in my original file. The marriage mentioned appears to have been 1 Jan 1911. While the census indicates Pearl to be a sister (of the head of household) she is more likely a sister or daughter of the mother, Mary Petersen. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
