I am still searching for the parents of John Robins (b.1785 U.S.)married
Tabitah Stowbridge in Ontario.  I am following a lead that his parents
may have been Joshua Robins and Mary Blatchley. Joshua and Mary were
apparently divorced and Joshua married Mahittable Swayze (widow of
Peter Hopkins).  I have found one small clue that may help. In Knowlton
Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, Sept. 19, 1774 Andrew Whitesell
and Richard Shackleton made inventory of the estate Israel Swayze. In
his will Israel Swayze named his children including Mahittable (wife of
Peter Hopkins). In 1775, Joshua Robins, Andrew Whitesell and Richard
Shackleton witnessed the will of Samuel Green.(Andrew Whitesell was
married to Margaretha Green).  This small clue puts Joshua Robins and
Mahittable Swayze in Knowlton Townhip, Sussex County, New Jersey.
