    25 Jul 1848 in Chester, Warren, NY.  William married Mary PERKINS,
    daughter of Jacob PERKINS Jr and Mary FITCH, on 22 Mar 1789 in Paulet,
    Rutland, VT. Mary was born 21 Jul 1767 in Canterbury, CT. She died
    15 Mar 1859 in Chester, Warren, NY.  They had the following children:
    2.  M   i.  Samuel LAKE was born 3 Jan 1790 in Paulet, Rutland, VT.
        Samuel married Helen PHELPS on 6 Jan 1822.
    3   M   ii. William Fitzgerald LAKE was born 7 Apr 1791. He died 3
        Jul 1829 in Springville, Erie, NY.
    4   M   iii.    Wesley P. LAKE was born 13 Mar 1793. He died 3 Mar
        1831 in Chester, Warren, NY.  Wesley married (1) Annis MEAD on
        5 Feb 1818. Annis was born 9 Mar 1797. She died 8 Jun 1829.
        Wesley also married (2) Harriet MEAD on 17 Mar 1830. Harriet
        was born 17 Feb 1795. She died 22 Jun 1882.
    5   M   iv. Erastus LAKE was born 28 Oct 1794 in Milford, Otsego,
        NY. He died 29 Jan 1889 in Allen, MI.  Erastus married Erna
        MEAD, daughter of Jabez MEAD and Elizabeth HOBBY, on 30 Dec 1823
        in Chester, Warren, NY. Erna was born 30 Apr 1801 in Chester,
        Warren, NY. She died 5 Mar 1870 in Allen, MI.
    6   M   v.  Chester LAKE was born 13 Apr 1797. He died 16 Nov 1799.
    7   F   vi. Phebe LAKE was born 19 Jun 1799 in Pottersville, NY. She
        died 10 Jun 1886.  Phebe married Shadrach MEAD on 12 Apr
        1821. Shadrach was born 2 Nov 1794. He died 7 Aug 1875.
    8   F   vii.    Clarissa LAKE was born 7 May 1801.  Clarissa married
        Charles A. MEAD, son of Lemuel MEAD and Jerusha POOL, on 3 Dec
        1834. Charles was born 30 Jan 1808. He died 25 Aug 1880.
    9   M   viii.   Camden C. LAKE was born 1 Jul 1803 in Chester,
        Warren, NY.  Camden married Elizabeth FOSDICK, daughter of
        Solomon FOSDICK and Anna THORNE, on 1 Mar 1832 in Springville,
        Erie, NY. Elizabeth was born 1 May 1809 in Amsterdam, NY. She
        died 19 Nov 1874.
    10  F   ix. Harriet LAKE was born 8 Jul 1805.
    11  M   x.  Philander M. LAKE was born 18 Mar 1807. He died 16 Apr
        1852.  Philander married Elizabeth MEAD on 25 Aug 1833. Elizabeth
        was born 31 Mar 1817.
    12  M   xi. Alonzo C. LAKE was born 14 Feb 1809 in Chester, Warren,
        NY. He died in Portage, OH.  Alonzo married Amanda WHEELER on
        16 Oct 1845.

I came across some info in my database from J. Kelsey Jones, email:
montrose@ptdprolog.net that named this William Lake as being the same as:
"Bille Lake", b. 23 Sep 1758, son of Samuel Lake and Abigail Roberts of
Kent, CT. Samuel was the son of James Samuel Lake and Mary/Mercy Rogers of
New Milford. The difference in this birth date and the one you posted of
"22 Sep 1759" are similar enough that it would seem likely that there
may be a transcription error of some kind, either from baptismal or
other records. Other children of Samuel and Abigail are named as:

Rhoda, b. 25 Mar 1764

I have gone thru my files to try and find any record of correspondence
with J. Kelsey Jones but have come up empty so this info may have been
either from email or an online database, I'm not sure. It may be something
worth pursuing.
