This is really interesting because my 5th great grandmother, Mary Leek, married Archibald Linthicum, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, in 1783. Archibald descends from Thomas Linthicum, who landed in Anne Arundel County, Maryland in 1658. Thomas' origins are unknown, but the author/researcher for the Linthicum genealogy book supposed Wales. I don't believe that. With so many surnames and placenames with the suffix of 'combe' in Devon and Somerset - that is where I believe Thomas Linthicum was born/lived before coming to North America. I visited Ilfracombe in May 2022. I am going to spend a full week in Devon this May 2023.
