From: "Gilles Bourgoin" Date: Mon, 21 Nov 2005 08:26:38 -0500 I am referred to you by Marilyn LAKE. She asked me to verify if my wife's (Georgette LAKE) lineage could help to trace her ancestors. Unluckly, it is negative. Our LAKE first ancestor will add another subject to your files. Georgette's first father William LAKE came probably from Essex, UK. His parents were William and Anne JOHNSTON. He appears first in the Gaspe Peninsula. He claimed being born in 1812, came in the beginning of the 1830's. Converted to catholicism to marry a first French speaking woman. He married twice and lived in the Perce area of Gaspe. My wife's gr-father, William, was born at St Michel de Perce parish He married Mary Burns in Ottawa and had a son with her (William) before she past away. He remarried in Ferme Neuve QC in 1902 to Exilia VALIQUETTE from whom her father was born. He married a third time to Marie-Louise AUBIN, in Labelle, QC. He raised 7 children families with each of those last two mothers. He was a railroad worker. Most of these descendants seems to be still in Quebec. Hoping these informations will interess you, you can count on my assistance. Gilles BOURGOIN Blainville, QC
