1060. Henry LAKE (195) was born about 1611 in England. This Henry is not the son of a David Lake and Alice Backster of Wavertree, Childwall, England.. David's will did not name Henry or his brother Thomas. David Lakes son Henry must have died young. He died after 21 Feb 1672 in Dartmouth, Bristol Co. MA. The family came from Childwell, a parish near Riverpool in Lancashire, England. Shortly after the execution of his wife, Henry Lake removed to Portsmouth, RI where he was admitted an inhabitant on 19 Jan 1651/52, and on 23 Apr 1651 he witnessed a deed there. He had 33 score acrese of land in Portsmouth. Toward the end of his life he lived in Dartmouth. He was married to Alice about 1641. 1061. Alice was born about 1621 in Lancashire, England. She died after 4 Jun 1648 in Dorchester, Suffolk Co. MA. (196) NOTE: executed for witchcraft leaving a daughter and three sons, all under 10 years old. She was called a witch because she imagined she had seen her recently deceased baby. Children were: child i. Elizabeth LAKE was born about 1641/42 in Dorchester, Suffolk Co. MA. She died after 1702 in probably, Little Compton, Newport Co., RI. child ii. Thomas LAKE was born in 1644 in Salem, Essex Co. MA. He died between 14 Dec 1715 and 1717 in Little Compton, Newport Co., RI. Thomas was brought up in the family of his uncle, Thomas Lake of Dorchester, where on 19 (12) 1659 he, called 'kinsman and servant of Thomas Lake", was before the Dorchester church for creating a disturbance.
