Date: Fri, 7 Aug 2020 08:23:01 -0700 From: Annette Truesdell Reply-To: loyalist-lake-history@googlegroups.com Going through my notes for my Thomas Lake and wanted to pass along what I had for another Thomas in Canada:   Petitions submitted in Newark, June 1795, July 1795 and granted for land in Burford under the name "Thomas Lake" were for a native of Buckinghamshire who was a Sargent in the 20th Reg of the Horse.  He and his brother "Sabine Lake" served in England and immigrated to Canada and petitioned for lands based on their service.  It is not known if this Thomas Lake remained in Canada or not as his Lot was later granted in 1820 to George Ryerson.     Just want anyone looking thru the land grants not to confuse the petition of the Buckingham Thomas Lake with our Thomas Lake.   Annette
