Family tradition say that  William Lake came from England first to 
Massachusetts then to Beaufort  District South Carolina 
Recorded in 1810 census of Beaufort, SC  
    Mary, b June 1, 1805

    William Lake 
    Born  November 22, 1814 in  Beaufort, SC  (Family  Bible) 
    had a rice plantation in SC & a large house on Warren Square in
      Savannah with nice furniture from from England (from his father)
    Died  May 19, 1888 in  Sanannah, GA 
        William Perry Lake 
        Born April 5, 1843 in Beaufort co. GA 
        Died  August 28, 1914 in  Vidalia, GA 
            William Perry Lake Jr 
            Born December 14, 1887 in Rockyford, GA 
            Died  June 27, 1970 in  Jacksonville, FL 
               Jerry Arthur Lake 
               Born October 5, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL
