Subject: Bayless Lake

As a BAYLESS descendant, I am interested in all BAYLESSes.  I found the
following information on the Sangamon Co., IL, USGW page.  I would be
interested to learn more about this family and who the parents, ancestors,
of Mary J. LAKE were and how she was associated with the BAYLESS
family.  Did she, by any chance, ever live in Loudon Co., VA?

Henry Lake m. Eliza Cantrall, dau. of Wyatt Cantrall who was b. Bath Co., KY.

Bayless Lake may be the same man who was Bayless L., son of Mary J. Lake
who married Stephen E. Wilcockson who was b. Bath Co., KY.  Stephen and
Mary J. were married in Sangamon Co., IL.  Their children are listed as:
Bayless L.
Lucy J.
Eliza A.
Emeline F.
Charles H.
James E.
Elizabeth C.
John S.

The family lived near Elkhart, IL, and some of the children went to Henry
Co., MO.  Looks like Mary J. may have been married previously to someone
named LAKE and had at least the one son Bayless Lake prior to her marriage
to Wilcockson or, for some reason, Bayless dropped the surname Wilcockson
and went with LAKE.  I found all of this on the Sangamon Co. USGW
site.  Might be interesting to know if Mary J. Lake ever lived in Loudon
Co., VA.
