On B-17 bombers training command. In the Army Air Corps. His eyes were too bad to see service overseas on the B-17s. But he was in Texas and New Mexico traing pilots and air crews. Late in the war, made transition to B-29 bombers and was scheduled to go overseas to the Pacific in order to bomb Japan. But 2 days before he was scheduled to go, the atomic bombs made Japan surrender. My father's grandparents were Henry Miller and Mary Ellen ROBBINS. Married here in Iowa in 1887. Robbins line goes back to New Jersey Robbins too. My father is now 82 and in a nursing home. Hi grandson and my nephew, serving also in the US Air Force, just returned from a tour in Iraq. Have photos of them if wish to see them both.
