Date: Wed, 13 May 2020 06:57:22 -0400 From: Garry Heagy Here are my notes on Sincy Robins/Robbins:   From the Faus Family book, provided by Minerva 'Minnie' Faus Rosebush: MORE ROBBINS HISTORY: - Although very incomplete, the following is an excerpt taken from the Robbins Bible Records. -- SINCY ROBBINS with seven sons from Ireland came to America and settled in Weathersfield, Connecticut. Some of the family moved to New Jersey, from where some of them moved to Pennsylvania. The names of these sons were known to be; - WILLIAM, VINCENT, JOSHUA, JOHN and JOSEPH ROBBINS.  Joshua Robbins was the one who married Jane Dildine, who was the mother of Rachel Robbins, whom Thomas Faus married as his first wife. (From Minnie Faus Rosebush), a granddaughter of Thomas Faus and Rachel Robbins. The following was obtained --- JOHN DILDINE was a private in the Revolutionary War and he is our Revolutionary War Ancestor -- John Dildine was born about 1760 and died in 1820. He married Mary Rosencrafts on the 7th of February. These were the parents of Jane Dildine, who was the mother of Rachel Robbins. -- The Dildine family were of French ancestry and Samson Dildine settled in Green Twp., Sussex county, New Jersey. He married Martha Hunt, from what is now Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The children of this union were - Abigail, Uriah, Samuel, John, Richard, Thomas and Sarah. The first three mentioned were soldiers in the Revolution, and took part in several general engagements. Ralph's picture is in the History of Sussex and Warren Counties, by Snell on page 438.       Here's my latest thoughts on Sincy Robbins: -  there is no Sincy Robbins Bible -  the Joshua Robbins Bible was passed down in the Thomas Faus family -  Minnie Faus Rosebush born 1877 was a genealogy researcher and was a member of DAR -  Minnie provided the photocopy of the Joshua Robbins Bible for the Faus Family book -  along with the photocopy Minnie provided other research material including the Sincy Robbins information -  Minnie Faus is the original source of the Sincy Robbins information -  Minnie has errors in her material, but I think she could be correct with her listing of Joshua's brothers -  Cincy could be a nickname for Vincent.   As I mentioned previously, John Dildine who married Mary Rosencrants and lived in Somerset County, NJ, is not the ancestor of Minnie Faus or mine, I’m also a descendant of Thomas Faus and Rachel Robbins. Our John Dildine ancestor lived in Mount Bethel Twp, Northampton County, PA, during the Revolution where he served in the militia.  He later moved to Columbia County, PA, where his daughter, Jane, married Joshua Robbins b. 1777.
