From: Dazzilla@aol.com Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2005 00:49:40 EDT Dear Marshall, I thought I would write and give you what little I have on the Kiernan's that I have. Edward Kiernan b 1825 Ireland ...d. New Jersey...my GG Grandfather and Thomas Kiernan b 1839 Ireland.(Not sure if brother or uncle)Private age 23 Enlisted 25 May 1861 ... discharged for disability 24 April 1862 Leavenworth, KS. 1st infantry, company F. Edward... married Margaret(unknown) b1832..Ireland (Edward married again after 1860 New Jersey to Person Unknown) Children: 1. James Kiernan b. Highbridge, Hunterton Co. NJ 2. Edward Kiernan B.1 Nov 1854 Highbridge, Hunterton co. NJ...d. Winchester, KS (My G Grandfather) Married Sarah Boyle 15 April 1879 Easton, Leavenworth Co , KS. Edward was a railroad employee in 1885. Most of the Kiernan's in my family reside in Kansas. So you see there are some Kiernans that made it through New Jersey. I got the information from a cousin...who is the family genealogist. I would like to confirm births and deaths of the 2 Edward Kiernan. I have no idea about Thomas only he was a resident of Lawrence, KS. I will continue to search. Do you have any idea where I could search for information in Hunterton Co. at the time of their births? Knowing they were Catholic...I was wondering about church's in the area at that time. There has to be burial record somewhere for Edward Sr. and perhaps marraige certificates. We may be related in some way after all. Thank you for your time...Keep me in mind if you find anything. I think you are much more knowledgable than I am in this field. Kathy Marshall
