From - Nina Heil Oct 2002 Will of Josiah Lake of 1974 Below is the will of Josiah Lake who married Abigail Benedict and born 1792. Transcription of: Last Will and Testament of Josiah Lake deceased. I Josiah Lake of Burlington Kansas make this my last Will. I give, devise and bequeath my Estate and property, real and personal as follows to wit: One note secured by Mortgage for Two hundred dollars due Nov. 5th, 1873 given by Wood Petty and wife and dated the 5th of Nov. 1871. One note on C. L. W. Ingerson and S. J. Carter for $100 dated Nov. 16th, 1872. Due 12 months from date. One note for $ 50, on C. S. W. Ingerson and Lorenzo Schlicter, Due Nov 4th, 1873. Forty dollars in Money. After decease of this Testator and after paying all debts and liabilities; funeral expenses & then the residue to be equally divided between the following named persons to wit: Phebe Davidson, Emiline Schaaf, Adaline Ingerson, Alvina Lapoe, Sarah Jane Garrett and to the heirs of Elizabeth Carter deceased. One Wooden Chest to Irene Davidson. My Bible to Adaline Ingerson. My Large Testament to Phebe Davidson. My Trunk to Josiah Davidson. My bed and clothes to Phebe Davidson. My Looking Glass to Phebe Davidson. May Keep or give to whom she chooses. Forty dollars loaned to James Davidson on the 5th day of May 1872 at 10 percent to apply on my board bill and washing. I appoint Josiah L. Davidson as Executor of this Will.
