I am researching the family of John. R. LAKE b. approx. 1838 KY.
He appears on the Washington Co. IN census in 1860 age 22, with his wife 
Margaret Ann VOORHIES, age 25 KY, dau. Harriet Ellen, age 2 months IN, and 
Lucinda LAKE, age 53 bp VA, and Susan Wallace SHELTON, age 3 bp KY.

By 1880 this family had moved to Effingham Co. IL. John and Margaret had four 
more children: Amanda Jane, b. 1863 IN, Thomas W., b. 1864 KY, William, b. 
1867 IN, Susan, b. 1869 IN and Dora. 

Believe this family may have originally come from Mercer Co. KY.  Found 
marriage record of John Lake and Margaret A. Voorhis September 13, 1857 in 
Mercer Co. Would appreciate any connections, and/or assistance from anyone 
familiar with Mercer Co. KY LAKE families.
