From: Dixie To: Marshall Lake Date: Fri, 13 May 2016 15:33:57 -0500 Nice to hear from you, Marshall, This is actually my husband's genealogy. I don't have much on the Robbins line since my husband's line continues through Mary Catherine "Polly" Dyson's second husband. Mary Catherine "Polly" Dyson was born 1 Nov 1841 in Abbeville Co., SC and died 1 Jan 1897 in Hardeman Co, TN. She was the daughter of John Sanders Dyson, Sr. Polly married James W. Robbins 19 Dec 1860 in Ponotoc Co., MS. On the Ponotoc Marriage records she is named as Polly C. Dyson. James W. Robbins was born 26 Oct 1839 in NC and died of Pneumonia during the Civil War on 3 Jan 1864. He was the son of Moses Robbins (no info on Moses). James and Polly had one known child: Nathan Franklin Robbins. Nathan married Georgia Ann Dillard, d/o Willis Dillard and Martha L. Georgia was born 29 Nov 1856 and died 17 Jun 1934 in Ponotoc co., MS. They had five known children: Carl, Windham, James Nathan (after his grandfather), Pearle Adalee, and Walton. I am attaching photos. One is of the young boy I believe may be James. One is of Polly and three sons which is a poor image, but you can tell what she looked like. One of those boys is my husband's grandfather; the other two are unidentified. The third one is of James W. Robbins in his uniform. It is a glass photo and in very bad shape, but at least it is an image of him.
