I believe that I descend from him through Millard Robbins d.1925 in MO. I have a relative who has posted in Geni states that he believes Millard is the son of James H Robbins and grandson of Major John Robbins. I do not believe that James H is the son of Major John Robbins for the following reasons: 1. Major John Robbins son was named James W Robbins and died in 1887 in TN. 2. We know that James H Robbins died between 1860-1870. His widow (Kathrine) remarried and moved to Missouri with my grandfather Millard. 3. Millard was not listed as James W Robbins children. I know that there is a kit for James H. And I found through Tamara Robbins Research of (James Robbins family of Spartanburg Co., SC), that James (b. 1786) listed a "Millard" as one of his "grandchildren" in his will. Millard being a pretty unusual name and Polly possibly the son of John (the miller) Cantrell, I thought this quite a coincidence. Tamara also lists a James as a son of his born in 1830 which would match our family records for Millard's father. It also makes sense that he was still part of James, Sr. household at the age of 20 (census 1850) but then is not heard from again in SC. I was wondering if there was anyway we could find out if James H is actually the son of James Robbins of Spartanburg?? Can we compare DNA for the two? Has this been done yet? It could be the link to William that we are looking for.. Donna Crowder 919-669-7580
