I've been trying to locate Lillie's father John Robbins but can't find him
on the census. The census shows Wistar Pasteridge/Pesteridge in VA. He is
listed as a mulatto. Also on 1910 NJ census with wife Lillie & several
children. It appears the couple married about 1888 & remained in NJ. I
wonder if John Robbins objections to the marriage were because of race?
