Discharged 4 Sept. 65.

Mr. John S. Lake, a citizen of Trenton, has five sons, and all of them
are in the army, viz:
James and John S. Lake, Jr. in Pennsylvania regiments.
Joel W. Lake, in the Fourth Regiment, N.J. Volunteers.
Jacob A. Lake, and Ebenezar Lake, in the Eighth N.J. Volunteers.
Very few families, we fancy, can be found that can furnish a parallel
to this."

I have a Henry Laake, Pvt., (spelling possible typesetting error) was killed 
in action at Chancellorsville, VA 3 May 1863.  Served from 11 Feb '62 in Co B 
of the 7th Reg from NJ, Vol I, page 313 of Officers and Men from NJ Who 
Served in Civil War, pub. 1870's.

In Co. D, 7th Reg. David Lake, Pvt. 3 Mar 64 for 1 yr, out 17 Jul '65, 
substitute. P. 323.

In Co D, also, James G. Lake, 1st Sgt., 31 Aug '61 for 3 yrs.  Promoted to 
2nd Lt. Co B, 25th Reg., 30 Dec '62. P. 322
