My note - could Ebenezer be a son of John LAKE (d 1808 Alexandria Twp)? Date: Sun, 10 Nov 2019 11:47:49 -0600 From: Stacy Foraker To: Marshall Lake Hi Marshall,  I am the daughter of  Thearl Lake - B:1959-D:2009 Born in MO Jimmie Lake- B:1932-D:1976 Born in MO Harry Lake- B: 1905-D:1988  Born in MO Allen Lake -B:1870-D:1950 Born in Wayne County MI  Alexander Lake B- 1824- D:1900 Born in Portage county OH Ebenezer Lake B: 1794- D:1871 Born in New Jersey  Ebenezer is the farthest I can track and prove. So far I have not been able to find any records of the family he belonged to. I have found military records from the war of 1812 that list an Ebenezer Lake age range 18-25 enlisting from Bridgeton NJ in 1813, for a period of 5 years under captain Alexander Williams and captain John Biddles. He served his term and was released from service in 1818 at Detroit MI then in Nov of 1822 married a women by the name of Chloe Moore( born in Mass in 1789) in Franklin Township, portage county OH. So far i have been unsuccessful at proving a genetic relationship between myself and the Lake family of NJ (decedents of John Lake of Gravesend) I would be grateful for any added info you might have or any ideas on where to look.  Thanks so much Stacy Lake  From: Stacy Foraker To: Marshall Lake Hi Marshall, Thanks so much for the added information.  In the 1860 and 1870 census in Lenox, Macomb county MI  Ebenezer lists his place of birth as New Jersey and the Michigan death records show new jersey as his place of birth.  on the 1880 census 3 out of 4 of his known living children list his POB as New Jersey and 1 lists new York for his POB.  I have not been working with genealogy long so i haven't really talked with anyone outside of my family but thank you for Annettes  email i will get in touch with her and see if she has anything more. Also  I have talked with my fathers brother and he has agreed to take a DNA test or me, is there a company you would recommend for the Y test?     Thanks for the help Stacy Date: Tue, 5 May 2020 19:39:26 -0500 From: Stacy Foraker Hi Marshall! He served under Alexander Williams and later under John Biddle. He server 5 years and was discharged at Detroit MI. In 1818 he was given a land grant in Indiana  that was claimed by a Dennis Rockwell.  He married Chloe Moore In November of 1822 in Franklin township, Portage county Ohio.  He and Chloe had 5 children together, Mary Ann (Carpenter)1823-1887 , Alexander 1824-1900 , Eratus 1827-1896, Charles 1830-1916 and William 1835-1872.  By 1840 he can be found in census records in Hamtramack, Wayne MI, by 1850 he and family can be found in Lenox Macomb county MI where he remained until his death.  Date: Tue, 5 May 2020 20:37:14 -0500 From: Stacy Foraker I have had DNA matches from my autosomal kit on Ancestry with descendants of 3 of the children of Daniel Lake Sr 1777-1827 and Elizabeth Whaley 1774-1838. i have had multiple matches with people who are descended from the Whaley family and multiple matches from the Debow family. I will need a little time to work with my uncles matches as i have found out that part of my mothers line is connected to the Moores, so i have had matches where i am uncertain if it is because of the Lakes or not..
