Green Robbins b. abt. 1836 s/o John S. & Martha Robbins appears to be living in Phila in 1910 with wife Isabelle. If he is the same man he can't be the Green who died in 1868. Green Robbins b. abt. 1841 s/o Jonathan & Mary Ann appears to be living in Trenton in 1870 so it looks like this isn't the Green who died in 1868. There was a Jonathan G. (Green?) Robbins who served in the 31st Reg NJ Inf. Vol. I don't believe he died in 1868 but don't know for sure. Does anyone know? The only Green Robbins as a Civil War soldier is the Confederate. Something doesn't add up. Maybe this was already answered. If it has I'd appreciate a repeat of it. What is the relationship between John S. & Martha Robbins (Warren Co.) & Jonathan & Mary Ann Robbins (Hunterdon Co.)? Both families name sons Green. All the information posted is helpful in sorting this out. I'm going to list the names from the "Our Brothers Gone Before" Vol II. pg. 1183 for the Robbins that appear they may have some connection to the name Green. I contacted one of the authors of the book & asked for their source on Green Robbins as a Union soldier. The book gives no information to indicate that four of the men listed below were actually Civil War soldiers. Under New Jersey Civil War Burials 1. Green Robbins,1-12-1868, Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Hunterdon Co., NJ. 2. John G. Robbins, 2-24-1901, Union Cemetery, Milford, Hunterdon Co., NJ. 3. Jonathan G. Robbins, Corp, C, 31st NJ Inf, 6-22-1897, Union Cemetery, Milford Hunterdon County. 4. Jonathan G. Robbins 6-2-1899, New Presbyterian Cemetery, Bound Brook Somerset County. 5. Jonathan G. Robbins, Pvt, G, 119th PA Inf, 1894, Mansfield/Washington Cemetery, Washington Warren County. 6. John Robbins, 5-14-1892, Siloam Cemetery, Vineland NJ. As far as I know this man isn't connected to the name Green. The National Archives has no record of him as a Civil War soldier either & I can't find any reference for his service other than in the above named book.
