It seems that Amos had a daughter, Elizabeth, who was married 1st to John Sine Jr. In 1805 John Sine purchased the Boar’s Head Tavern. John Sine Jr. died about 1806. Elizabeth Sine, widow, married Dec. 4, 1811 William Brittain/Britton widower. Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net Date: Wed May 8, 2019 10:52 am ((PDT)) John Robbins was an administrator for the estate of John Sine. Amos Robbins had a son John who was deceased when he wrote his Will in 1833. From: Garry Heagy To: Marshall Lake Subject: Re: Robbins Amos' brother, John, died at a young age. John had a son Joseph. I wonder if Amos adopted Joseph. Amos' daughter, Sarah, married Joseph. > Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net > Date: Sat May 11, 2019 8:44 am ((PDT)) > > I made a mistake with “John Line”, it should be John Sine, the “S” is > close to looking an “L”. In Amos' will it doesn't specify Joseph ROBINS as the husband of Amos' "beloved daughter Sarah Robins". Do you have something else to say this Sarah married her cousin, Joseph? > Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net > Date: Sun May 12, 2019 3:39 am ((PDT)) > > As assume you believe the Goodspeed Histories is correct, with Amos who > died in 1827 being a son of John and Elizabeth. > > The Goodspeed Histories says that Amos who died in 1827 had a daughter > Sarah who married Joseph Robbins, a cousin. > > It would then be an astonishing coincidence that Amos Robbins who died > in 1837 had a “beloved daughter Sarah Robins” whose husband was Joseph > Robbins. Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net Date: Mon May 13, 2019 3:06 am ((PDT)) From the Will of Amos Robins who died in Sep 1837: “– I say they shall be praized to my beloved daughter Sarah Robins and Joseph Robins at a fair price and they shall be aloud for keeping me fourty dollars a year the time I have bin with them witch shall be takeing out of their lots and the remainder together with all my huse estate goods and chattels” “they shall be aloud for keeping me fourty dollars a year the time I have bin with them” - Amos has been living with Sarah and Joseph Robins. From the 1830 census for Amwell Twp, Hunterdon County, NJ: Robbins, Joseph 0201101001-0001001 Note: Amos is the oldest male, age in his 70's Joseph and Sarah are aged in their 40’s Posted by: "Garry Heagy" gheagy@netflash.net gheagy@netflash.net Date: Mon May 13, 2019 3:17 am ((PDT)) Amos’ son John was deceased. He died 7 Aug 1822. John had a son John who died prior to Amos writing his Will in Jan 1833. John Jr. had 2 children who were minors when Amos wrote his Will. It was these 2 minor children than Hiram was to hold the inheritance for.
