From: Tracey Marcelo Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2013 9:15 PM I noticed one of the Rowan Co. deeds you mentioned was for a Christopher Nation. The following deed was abstracted on a web page about William and Ann Hutchinson: http://www.richardshutchinson.com/WilliamAnnHutchinson.htm East Jersey Deed - Book G-3,Pg 412. 1 Jun 1762 Henry Chamberlin, of Amwell, Hunterdon Co., NJ, yeoman, quit claims unto Robert Hutchinson, of Upper Freehold, Monmouth Co., NJ, yeoman, for £7,10 shillings, for a tr. of meadow conveyed to Jacob Robins by Christopher Nation on 10 Dec 1748, which sd. Nation received from his father, John Nation by a Power of Attorney, beg. at the n. corner of a tr. of land William Hutchinson, Esqr., bot. of Daniel Robbins, at a ditch in Thomas Clayton's line and then along sd. Hutchinson's line several courses to or opposite the ditch that drains the Clayton meadow, called Jacob Robbins' Ditch, and then up the ditch to the beg., being 4 a. Wits.: Benjamin Ward, John Chamberlin. Middlesex - 19 Mar 1774, John Chamberlin appeared bef. Joseph Skelton, Judge, Middlesex Co. Bowes Reed, Sec. Is this the same Christopher Nation who ends up in Rowan Co. NC? If so, this deed gives some hints about which NJ Robbins lived on the adjoining property. From what I have on the Robbins only Joseph who married Eleanor Nation and John Nation married Betheah Robbins were the only Robbins and Nations that migrated to Virginia FROM NJ by about 1733. They are also the only Robbins and Nation in Rowan by 1751-54 per tax list. I am thinking I agree with John German about Richard Robbins as the brother to Joseph Robbins who died in Rowan in 1754 and Richard was a witness to his Will. Richard Robbins only had 4 proven sons Isaac, Jacob, Michael and Richard, Jr and believe he also had John, William, James, Matthew and possible Elisha. These were the Robbins on the Tax list in 1759-1761 with the Nations and Victorys who intermarried with the Robbins and Nations and always CC and witness to deeds. Joseph Robbins per Will only had William, Joseph John. Richard Robbins was very possible the unborn child of Joseph and Anna Packe per his Will. We know that Richard was in Frederick Co with Joseph Robbins and John Nation per John German research. If you add the DNA it seems to confirm the research, without needed Sources.
