I was seaching your web site and noticed your search ended with John Lake. I am researching the Sines in NJ. While trying to find the father of my Phillip Sine b 5/24/1784 . I came accross the name John Lake. I was told John Lake is memtioned as the Grandson of John Sine Sr. I don't know if this is your John Lake or not. I don't have the wills. But I am interested in finding out how to go about getting them. This information was passed on by Charlette Fry Girven. There is a Will dated 7 Nov 1778 for a Nicholas Sine of Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co. NJ, leaving to William Sine, Sr. 5 pounds as a birthright, to Elizabeth Bartholemew and Ann Sine, sisters, 5 pounds each. Cousin, John Sine, residue. Executors - friends, John Lambert and Peter Rockafellow, Jr. Witnesses: John Lake, William Taylor, Barnit Van Zandt. Will was proved on 19 Sept 1781. Will of Nicholas Sine 30 Mar 1795 (Calendar of Wills 1791-1795) Early Germans of New Jersey, Page 498, Smiths of Amwell. Will of John Sine, Sr 23 Jan. 1797 (Calendar of Wills 1796-1800) from the Will of Nicholas Sine, dated Mar 30, 1795 and proved on May 7, 1795 (Calendar of Wills, Hunterdon Co. NJ 1791-1795) (I am not certain where this Nicholas Sine would fit in but the Will of John Sine, Sr. mentioned a grand-son by the name of John Lake.)
