I have a Reuben Lake in my database. Married to Elizabeth; 5 children--Hannah, Phoebe, Jonas, John, Jesse. He was identified as a 'merchant of Amwell' in 1804 when he was taxed in that township. He was also taxed there in 1790 as a householder. In 1777 he witnessed the will of Noah Stout of Kingwood. I don't know where I picked up the names of his wife and children. But his son Jonas (1785-1849) married Sarah Hunt on 15 Dec 1808, and they had 4 children, Maria (1808), Deborah (1811), Amy (1818) and Ruth Hunt Lake (1827). Seems like a lot of time between children. Jonas' death date of 10 May 1849 came from the Bible of Amos Hunt on file in the H.C. Historical Society. He was the brother of Sarah Hunt. Maybe I got the rest of the family information from that source too, but I would have to look that up.
