Andrew ROBINS could be 41.34, child ii Deed 52-351 Nicholas Trimmer & wife } This indenture made the twenty first of April to } anno. dom. one thousand thousand [sic] seven John Van Fleet } hundred & seventy five, between Nicholas Trimmer of Amwell in the county of Hunterdon & Province of New Jersey ? and Anna his wife of the one part, and John Van Fleet of the county & province aforesaid, wheelwright, of the other part:-- whereas John Child, Thomas Knapp, Joseph Mico, William Hammond, Peter Hammond, Francis Minshall, Henry Woodcock, William Lads & Henry Greenway in behalf of themselves and the rest of the West Jersey Society, being seized in fee of divers tracts of land in west Jersey aforesaid, by their instrument of Letter of Attorney duly executed bearing date the first day of February anno dom 1749 by the names of John Child President, Thomas Knapp vice President, Joseph Mico, William Hammond, Peter Hammond, Francis Minshall, Henry Woodcock, William Ladds and Henry Greenway and the rest of the committee for the west New Jersey Society did nominate constitute and appoint Henry Lane and Lewis Johnston Esqrs. or either of them to be their agents, attorneys & factors in his Majesties Province of West Jersey & elsewhere in America, to sell, assign, grant leases, make agreements and sipose of any of their lands and tenaments / according to the instruments they the said attorneys or either of them, should from time to time receive from the said constituents or from the committee for the time being / or any part thereof, to such person or persons, and for such sum or sums of money as should be deemed most for the Society's advantage, and to that end, to execute or cause to be executed all necessary deeds and writings as the ? customs of the country should require; as by the said instrument recorded in the Secretaries office at Burlington in book H.H. pag 287 to 289 application being thereunto ? may at large appear and whereas the said Patrick Lewis Johnston one of their attornies named in their letter of attorney by their deed of conveyance duly executed, dated the 4th day of Nov. anno dom. 1751 for the consideration therein mentioned did sell and confirm unto Mahlon Kirkbride his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or piece of land situate in the county of Hunterdon in the province aforesaid, containing by the limits and bounds thereof four thousand one hundred and eighty acres as by the said deed duly proved and entered on record in the Secretary's office of Burlington in Lib I.K. of deeds fol. 362 relation thereunto had may fully & at large appear -- and the said Mahlon Kirkbride being so seized thereof, did sell & convey one hundred acres of the same to Peter Van Buskark his heirs & assigns forever, by one indenture for the consideration therein mentioned, dated on or about the first of May 1748, application thereunto had may fully & at large appear, who for the consideration mentioned in one instrument conveyed the same to John Shrader, bearing date the eleventh day of May 1748 under the hand and seal of the said Peter Van Buskark duly executed to the said Shrader his heirs and assigns forever; and whereas John Shrader being so seized thereof for a valuable consideration conveyed the same unto Andw. Robins & to his heirs & assigns forever by one indenture dated the sixth day of May AD 1772 under his hand and seal duly executed -- and whereas Andw. Robins being so seized thereof for a valuable consideration conveyed the same unto the within mentioned Nicholas Trimmer his heirs and assigns forever, by one indenture bearing date the third day of May AD 1773 under his hand & seal duly executed. Now this indenture witnesseth, that the said Nicholas Trimmer and Anna his said wife for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds lawful proclamation money of the Province aforesaid, to them in hand paid by the said John Van Fleet, the receipt whereof they the said Nicholas Trimmer and Anna his said wife so and each of them doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof and every part thereof do & each of them doth hereby acquit, release and discharge the said John Van Fleet his heirs, execs. and admins. forever, hath granted, bargained, sold, ?, released and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, ?, convey & confirm unto the said John Van Fleet his heirs, execs. & admins. forever, in pursuance of an act of General Assembly for transfering uses into possession, a certain tract or parcell of land situate in Lebanon in the county & province aforesaid. Beginning at a stake being a corner of Harmon Dildine's land, thence west along Grandin's line twenty five chains & fifty ... to a stake - thence north thirty nine chains & sixty links to a stake Peter Young's corner, thence east twenty five chains & fifty links to the said Dildine's land, thence south thirty nine chains & sixty links to the place of beginning, containing one hundred acres. Together with all manner of woods, trees, mines, inerals, [sic] quarries, huntings, fowlings, fishings, ways, waters, water courses, buildings, improvements, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any way appurtaining, to have and to hold all and singular as above bargained premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Van Fleet his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use, benefited and behoof of him the said John Van Fleet his heirs and assigns forever - And the said Nicholas Trimmer and Anna his said wife doth convenant promise to and agree with the said John Van Fleet his heirs and assigns, that at the time of the ensealing and delivery of these presents, they or either of them hath good right, full power, lawful & absolute authority to grant, bargain and sell the above granted land and premises in manner and form above mentioned, to the said John Van Fleet his heirs and assigns forever, and the same & every part thereof in the preseeable and quiet possession of him the said John Van Fleet his heirs and assigns forever, against them the sd. Nicholas Trimmer and Anna his said wife, and against all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim any estate, right, title or interest to and in the same, or to any part or parcel thereof, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
