The oldest information I have about the Lake family begins with Henry and
Anne Lake of East Amwell in Hunterdon Co. Their ages in the 1850 census
indicate that both were born about 1790.   They married September 21,
1813, in East Amwell.

Some of their children were:
William Lake, b. 1818.   m. Eleanor (Lana) ________.
Jacob Lake b. 1820    m. Sarah Sweany 10 Mar 1843.
Aaron Lake b. 1824 in Rocky Hill, Montgomery Twp, Somerset Co.
                 m. Mary Danberry, 27 Apr 1853, E. Amwell., Hunterdon Co.
Nicholas Lake, b. 1830.   m. Deborah Danberry, 1851, East Amwell, Hunterdon Co.

Aaron's birthplace (Rocky Hill, Somerset Co.), and the use of the names
Henry, Nicholas, and Jacob in this family line leads me to believe
Henry is related to the Somerset or Middlesex County Lake families,
because these names are usually found in their genealogies.

d. 1919.  Buried  in Wertsville.    Children:  Jonathan, Mary E., Thomas J.

m. John Fink 1873.   Children:  Mary, Anna, Velma, and Julia.   d._______. 

3. Bloomfield Lake  b. 27 Oct  1857  m. Anne Brady about 1881  d. 1920. 
Children:  Charles L., Mary E., William Aaron,

4. Nicholas Lake           b. 1860 m. Charity _______, d. _______.
Children: Caroline, George, Charles E.  Lived in Hillsboro Township,
Somerset Co.

5  Caroline Lake    11 Jan  (or Jun) 1862   m. Charles Totten 1878  d.

Children: Nicholas, Caroline, Edward, John W., Frank, Charles, and Mamie. 
(Descendants of Sadie say that she was part Indian and that her father
Aaron was full blooded Cherokee.)
